5 honey face-masks you NEED to try

Honey is so versatile. You can use it for almost everything, with almost everything, especially when using it at home in your own face-masks.

It is a simple and easy way of treating your skin and enhancing its’ natural goodness, as it not only softens and cleanses your skin, but is also anti-oxidant and anti-bacterial nutrients, assisting the calming of hyper-pigmentation and acne, and even slowing down aging (yikes, thinking of this already!?). It also opens pores, helps cleanse and moisturises the skin, giving a radiating appearance  and energising the skin.

Honey & Orange Juice

It cleans clogged pores and helps prevent spots, wrinkles and fine lines, helping to aid sunburn and skin damage, hydrating your skin.

What you need:

8 tablespoons honey

3 tablespoons orange juice

Leave for 30 mins and wash off

Honey, Avocado & Coconut Oil

Avocado helps to retain water in the skin, keeping it hydrated firm, smooth and rejuvenated, good for people with dry skin. Coconut oil is naturally antibacterial and antifungal and acts as a moisturiser and cleans the skin.

What you need:

1/2 of a ripe avocado

2 tablespoons honey

1/2 teaspoon coconut oil

Leave for 15-20 mins and wash off

Honey & Oatmeal

It is hypoallergenic, perfect for sensitive skin and acne-prone skin, plus contains 18 different amino acids which protect the skin and rebuild and heal cells, which, as a mask, helps treat broken and/or blemished skin. Also, it helps treat sun damage and rashes/allergic reactions. Used with honey ensures that the skin can retain the moisture given by honey’s nutrients.

What you need:

3 tablespoons oats

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon hot water or natural yoghurt (for sensitive skin)

Leave for 30 mins and wash off

Honey, Milk & Turmeric

Ideal for dark circles and blemishes. Turmeric is great as an anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial ingredient. Milk exfoliates the skin through its’ lactic acid, and naturally soothes without irritation.

What you need:

1 teaspoon of turmeric

1 teaspoon of raw organic honey

1 teaspoon of milk (or natural yoghurt)

Optional – 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Leave for 20 mins and wash off

Honey, Egg Yolk & Olive Oil

This recipe can even be used on your hair for essential shine, reducing the appearance of greasy hair and making it feel thicker as it adds to the balance of the body’s natural oils.

What you need:

1 tablespoon warm olive oil

1 tablespoon honey

1 yolk

Leave for 30 mins and wash off
