The Afternoon Tea Bus – London’s BB Bakery Review

Last week my lovely mummy turned the big 5 0 and I wanted to do something a little different. What do you get the lady who has everything (or, rather, buys everything she wants for herself)?! I was stuck for ideas but wanted to get her an experience she’d remember.

I saw another beauty/lifestyle blogger make a post about the Afternoon Tea Bus Tour in London as a fun experience a couple of months ago (I’m so sorry but I can’t remember who posted it – if you’re reading this, thanks for the fab idea and please comment so I can give you some creds!) and I commented something along the lines of ‘I NEED TO DO THIS’. Well, low and behold, I did! It was super easy to do – all online, you book the seats you’d like and voila!

It definitely did not disappoint! I didn’t really know what to expect, tea and cake?? On a bus?? Whilst it’s moving? I’m probably going to spill it everywhere (I didn’t in the end, but mumsy did!). But it was not like I expected at all. I absolutely loved it

An old-fashioned London bus had been transformed into the cutest little tea room, with seats and tables on both top and bottom floor, and with little cake stands and cup holders on each table. There were flowers decorating the whole bus around the windows, and it was so nice to drive around London’s best attractions whilst eating the most amazing French-style cake and nibbles, and delve into endless hot (and cold) drinks. And, most importantly, Mum loved it, which was an extra bonus and made the day even more special.

It was such a good experience and the people serving were amazing. It lasted about an hour and a half, to be honest I had nearly forgotten that I’d been travelling (all in the warm, and missing the slight rain too!). Music was playing and everyone stared as the loveliest little bus drove across London. Plus, we got to keep the travel cups!!

Honestly, I would live in there if I could.

We have something similar here in Melbourne with a course meal set while the tram travel around the CBD area. But let’s be real, who can beat the iconic London double decker bus. Will definitely try this out when I get to visit London! Great one:D!
